Marina Charquero Ballester

Marina Charquero Ballester BSc (Psych) and MSc (Neuroscience) graduated respectively from the University of Valencia, Spain, and from Maastricht University, The Netherlands. At the moment she is pursuing a DPhil in the Hedonia: Trygfonden Research Group, under the supervision of Prof. Morten Kringelbach.

The aim of her research is to gain further insight into the various ways in which the experience of combat can impact the brain, for example in the form of posttraumatic stress disorder and/or mild traumatic brain injury. To do so, she is using complementary neuroimaging methods such as functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and magnetoencephalography (MEG) in combination with behavioural tasks and sophisticated computational models.
